FortiClient VPN is managed software, so simply trying to uninstall it will fail. You must first shut down the service to disable the management connection, and then you can successfully run the uninstaller application. This guide will walk you through that process.
An administrator account is required to run the uninstall.
Disable EMS
Save any open work, as the PC will restart at the end of this process.
Open FortiClient from the Start menu.
In the left column, click on Zero Trust Telemetry.
Underneath Centrally Managed by EMS, click on Disconnect.
Click Yes on the confirmation window.
Close the FortiClient window.
Uninstall FortiClient
Click on the Start menu, and then click Settings.
Click on Apps.
Either scroll through the list of apps until you find FortiClient. Or type “forticlient” into the search field.
Click on the FortiClient listing.
Click on Uninstall.
During the process, you’ll get two pop-up windows. Click Yes on both.
Note, the second time will automatically restart your PC.
After restart, FortiClient will be gone from the PC.
