Body
Ditto is screen sharing software currently undergoing a trial program under the Faculty Mobility Initiative. It allows instructors and students to wirelessly share their mobile device screens on the classroom projector. This guide goes over using Ditto for faculty members.
Table of Contents
Start Ditto Receiver
You must open Ditto Receiver on the classroom PC to enable Ditto screen sharing.
1. Turn on the projector.
2. Log into the classroom PC with your Tarleton account.
3. Open Ditto Receiver:
- Click Start, then All Apps.
- Scroll down to Ditto Receiver.

Share Screen in Zoom
If you'll have students joining the class via Zoom, you'll need to share the PC's screen in the Zoom session for them to see Ditto.
1. Open Zoom and start your session.
2. Click Share.

3. Select Entire Screen, and then click Share.

With the entire screen selected, you will not need to change Zoom sharing settings when transitioning from Ditto and iPad to using the PC directly.
Share iPad's Screen
With Ditto Receiver up and running, you can now share your iPad (or other mobile device) screen.
1. Open Ditto Connect on iPad.

2. Type in the Room Code displayed in the Ditto Receiver window on the PC.

3. Press Connect.
4. Enter the onscreen security code displayed on the PC's display or projector.

5. Tap the circle button under Start Sharing, then tap Start Broadcast.

6. There will be a 3-second countdown, and then your screen sharing begins.
7. Once screen sharing, use your iPad normally. Everything on the iPad's screen appears on the projector and in Zoom.

Stop Sharing iPad's Screen
1. Tap the red screen broadcasting icon in the top right of your iPad's screen.

2. Tap Stop.

Alternatively, open Ditto Connect and tap the red circle button below Sharing Screen, then tap Stop Broadcast.
Using Ditto Director
Ditto Director prevents devices from sharing their screen with a specific Ditto Receiver, unless approved by the instructor. However, it requires you to make use of multitasking desktops on the classroom PC, in order to have both a connected iPad and Ditto Director accessible.
1. Open Ditto Director.
- Click Start, then All Apps.
- Scroll down to Ditto Director.

2. Press Win + Tab on the PC's keyboard to bring up multitasking desktops.
3. Create a second desktop (this should only be required once per classroom).

4. Drag the Ditto Director window to the new Desktop 2.

5. Click on Desktop 2 to bring it up.
6. In Ditto Director, type in the Room Code displayed in the Ditto Receiver window on the PC.
7. Press Connect to Room.

8. Enter the moderator's password.
9. New connections will appear on the list. Tap the allow or reject icon as needed.

You cannot identify a specific device on Ditto Director. Some level of cooperation by other Ditto users in the room is required for a smooth experience.
10. To switch back to Desktop 1 (and your iPad), press Win + Tab on the keyboard and select Desktop 1.
