Autodesk software is available free for educational purposes to Tarleton students, faculty, and staff through the Autodesk Education Community. Commercial licenses are required for administrative or operational use.

Autodesk & Educational Licenses
Autodesk software is used for 3D design in architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, and media/entertainment.
Free access to their professional software (AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Maya, etc.) is available to Tarleton students, faculty, and staff for educational purposes.
- Students: Enrolled students can obtain free one-year licenses (renewable annually) for learning, research, and academic projects.
- Faculty: Free licenses available for teaching, research, and professional development.
- Staff: Eligible if using software for teaching, training, or research. Staff performing administrative, non-academic projects, or operational tasks (e.g., facilities planning) require commercial licenses.
Classroom & Lab Computers
ITS maintains Autodesk installations for student use in classrooms and labs. These are separate from individual educational licenses and not for office or personal work.
Work & Personal Computers
To get Autodesk software on a work or personal computer, you must go through Autodesk’s eligibility verification and then software download/install process.
- Visit autodesk.com/education/edu-software/overview
- Create an account using your Tarleton email.
- Complete the eligibility verification.
- Download the software.
- Install the software.
- For a Tarleton work computer, contact ITS to have a tech install the downloaded software and apply your license.
- Personal computers can install the software normally.
