How to Update a Syllabus in Canvas
Add or update the syllabus in a Canvas course, specifically for those wanting to use the built-in Syllabus link.
There are several ways to add a syllabus to a Canvas course. This section will show the three most common ways.
Helpful information. The course assignments and dates can be shown or hidden by selecting (or unselecting) the Show Course Summary check box under the Rich Text Editor.

How do I edit the Syllabus in a course?
All three methods start by navigating to the Syllabus page and editing it.
Option 1 – Copy and paste or type out the syllabus directly into the Syllabus page.
The result will look like this (after adding formatting):

Option 2 – Add a link to a syllabus as a document
The result will look like this:
Selecting the link will open the document in a new pop-over window like this:

Option 3 – Add a link to the document and have it show as a document on the page
The result will look like this:
