Code Purple

Code Purple is a state-of-the-art emergency notification system that gives Tarleton State University the ability to communicate health and safety emergency information quickly, regardless of your location.

Users will receive notifications through text message and email of closings or delays due to weather, crime, or other events that pose a threat to those on or coming to campus.

All students, faculty, and staff:

  • information will remain private and won’t be sold or shared to third parties
  • have the right to opt-out of this service at any time
  • may add up to 2 cell phone numbers and 2 email addresses to their accounts by logging into e2Campus

Get Code Purple

If you are a student or faculty/staff member at Tarleton State University, you have already been registered with Code Purple through your go.tarleton.edu or tarleton.edu email address only. This is mandated by Texas HB 2758 which mandates that all faculty, staff, and students of any State of Texas institution of higher education be registered into an emergency notification system, however, users may opt-out at any time.

E2Campus/Omnilert uses industry standard SMS text messaging protocols to send messages to your phone, therefore you do not need to install any special software to receive notifications.

Login to Code Purple

  • Students - Log in to e2Campus Code Purple using your go.tarleton.edu email address and UID number as your initial password. You will be prompted to change your password to something new.

  • Faculty/Staff - Log in to e2Campus Code Purple using your tarleton.edu email address and UIN as your initial password. You will be prompted to change your password to something new.

Edit Code Purple Settings

  • Service Tab - The Service tab allows you to add/remove and activate/deactivate cell phone numbers and email addresses on your account. All active cell phone numbers and email addresses will be sent notifications in the event of an emergency.

  • Groups Tab - In the Groups tab you can see which locations you currently receive notifications for and may choose to subscribe to multiple locations.

  • Account Tab - The Account tab allows you to change your password for e2Campus and terminate your account.

Cost

Code Purple emergency notifications are a free service of Tarleton State University. Those with an unlimited text messaging plan will not have any additional fees. However, depending on your wireless carrier provider and your mobile plan, you may be charged a nominal fee (i.e. ten cents per message) to receive SMS text messages.

Mobile App

Anyone can receive Code Purple alerts without an account via the Mobile@Tarleton app, available in the Apple Store and the Google Play Store.

RSS/XML Feed

Code Purple notifications can also be published to any RSS/XML feed by selecting Copy RSS/XML feed link and pasting the link into your RSS reader.

Opt Out

To opt-out of text message notifications, reply to any Code Purple alert with the word “STOP”. You can also opt-out by selecting the Service tab, then removing your cell phone number.
To opt-out of email notifications, log in to e2Campus and select the Service tab, then remove your email address. To opt-out entirely, log in to e2Campus and select the Account tab, and opt-out of the notifications by selecting the box under Account Termination, stating that you agree to terminate your account, and select Terminate Account Now.

What is e2Campus?

Code Purple is powered by e2Campus, a national mass notification solutions provide that allows designated university administrators to send time-sensitive messages to the mobile phones, email, and/or pagers of Code Purple subscribers.

E2Campus also has strict “Zero Spam” and usage policies for the information used by and for the Code Purple service Contact information you provide to the Code Purple service will only be used for delivering health and safety emergency information through e2Campus.
