Faculty Account Creation


Definitions

Domain Accounts:  Domain accounts are domain joined accounts which would be used to access on premise resources such as shared drives and computer logins.

Office 365 Accounts: Office 365 accounts are accounts created in Azure EntraID that allow users to log in to office365 products as well as services that require Azure Authentication.

MS365: Microsoft 365 Enterprise that includes Office 365 and enterprise mobility and security.


Questions and Answers

Q: Who can request a Faculty or Adjunct account?
A: Faculty account creations should not be submitted via Ticket.  Faculty and Adjunct accounts are created through the request form by Academic Affairs

Q: How long will the Faculty account stay active?
A: Faculty accounts will remain active as long as an employee is in workday.  The day they drop off of our workday file received daily, the account will be disabled.

Q: When will the employee receive their account?
A: Through the flow process employees will receive their account credentials upon the creation of their account when Academic affairs submits the account creation form.


Account Creation

Faculty and Adjunct Accounts are created under the same process as these accounts serve the same purpose and are not differentiated by any University System.

Faculty and Adjunct accounts are created by Academic affairs using the Microsoft account creation Form.

The following must be present for Academic affairs to complete the form:
Adloc Number
UID
Alternative Email
UIN
First name
Last name
Department
Managers Email Address

Included in the account creation process is the creation of Domain accounts and Office365 accounts


Notification

Within the flow process if all information is provided the Faculty or Adjunct employee will receive a welcome email upon account creation.
