Purpose

This article provides instructions for accessing software and product keys available through the Microsoft Azure Education portal.

Before You Begin

For the best results when accessing the Azure Education portal:

  1. Clear the browser's cache and cookies.
  2. Open an InPrivate or Incognito browser window.
  3. Make sure you know your Tarleton email address and password.

Access the Azure Education Portal

  1. Open an InPrivate or Incognito browser window.
  2. Go to the Microsoft Azure Student Verification page:

Microsoft Azure Student Verification

  1. Enter your Tarleton email address and select Next.
  2. Enter your password and complete any required authentication.
  3. First-time users may be prompted to complete:
    • Microsoft terms and conditions.
    • Academic/Student verification.

After completing verification, you should be directed to the Education | Overview page.

Find Available Software

From the Education portal:

  1. Select Software from the left navigation menu.
  2. Use the Search field to locate the software you need.
  3. Select the desired software from the search results.

The software details will appear on the right side of the page.

View a Product Key

If the selected software requires a product key:

  1. Select the software.
  2. Select View Key.
  3. Record the displayed product key for use during installation or activation.

Most software available through the Education portal has a product key specifically assigned for activation of that product.

Product keys should not be shared with other users.

Download Software

After selecting the appropriate software:

  1. Review the software version, operating system, language, and system type.
  2. Select Download.
  3. Follow the installation instructions for the selected product.
  4. If prompted during installation or activation, enter the product key obtained from View Key.

Troubleshooting

If the Education portal does not load correctly or software is unavailable:

  1. Clear the browser cache and cookies.
  2. Close the browser.
  3. Open a new InPrivate or Incognito window.
  4. Return to the Azure Student Verification page.
  5. Sign in again using the Tarleton account.
  6. Complete any Academic/Student verification prompts.
  7. Return to Education > Software and try again.

Microsoft Azure Education Support

If the issue continues, Microsoft requires additional information to investigate Azure Education access problems.

Create a complete screen recording showing:

  1. The Microsoft login page.
  2. The account being used to access Azure Education.
  3. Each step taken to access the Education portal.
  4. The point where the issue occurs.
  5. The complete error message displayed.

The recording should begin at the login page and continue until the error is reproduced.

Submit the issue and recording using:

Microsoft Azure Education – Submit Online Request

Providing the complete recording allows Microsoft to review the authentication and Education portal process leading up to the error.

Additional Information

  • Software availability is determined by Microsoft's Azure Education program.
  • Available software and versions may change over time.
  • Not all software available through Azure Education requires a product key.
  • Product keys obtained through the Education portal are intended for the eligible user's software activation and should not be distributed to others.
  • OITS can assist with general Tarleton account authentication issues; issues specific to Azure Education eligibility, software availability, or the Education portal may require escalation to Microsoft Azure Education Support.
