Every 365 days, all Tarleton faculty and staff will need to reset their Tarleton NTNET account password. Those working on a Tarleton Mac will also need to sync their new Tarleton password to their Mac’s local account. This guide will step you through the entire process.
When to Reset Tarleton NTNET Password
Unless told to by ITS staff, you don’t need to worry about resetting your Tarleton NTNET password until you get a notification email from ITS.
The first email will appear seven days before your password is set to expire, and you’ll get a reminder email each day.

Change Your Tarleton NTNET Password
Using the weblink from the password expiration notice email or the link listed above, go to a change password webpage.
User ID: Verify your Tarleton ID is listed above the password fields.
Create New Password: Enter a new password to use for the next year.
Confirm New Password: Enter the new password again, this is to verify there were no typos.
Click Submit.
Go through authentication if prompted, and follow any further prompts to confirm your contact and login information.
Your Tarleton NTNET password has now been reset.
In many cases, the reset will be nearly instant, but if any systems give you trouble logging in, wait 30 minutes before trying again.
Sync Your Tarleton NTNET Password with Your Mac
Please note, this step is only required it you are using a Tarleton owned Mac. Personal Macs will not be affected, other than prompting you to enter the new password for some Tarleton related applications.
Shortly after you reset your Tarleton NTNET password, you will get a prompt to sync your Microsoft Entra ID password (Tarleton NTNET) with your Mac’s local account password.
Click Sync in the notification. If you close it instead, the notification will return later.
A Sign Into Tarleton Jamf Connect window will appear. Verify your Tarleton email address is correct, then enter your new Tarleton NTNET password.
The next pop-up will ask for your Mac’s local password. This is your now old Tarleton NTNET password. Enter your old password, then click Sync.
Once done, with no further pop-ups, log out of your Mac (or do a restart).
Log back into the Mac using your new Tarleton NTNET password. It should log in normally.
Update Your Tarleton NTNET Password on Your Other Devices
After changing your Tarleton NTNET password, expect your smartphone and other devices using your Tarleton NTNET password to also prompt for the new password.
Follow the prompts given by the device. Normally, you’ll just need to enter the new password, and then go through authentication.
Tarleton-WiFi: Using Tarleton's Wi-Fi will prompt you to enter your new password to keep your connection. If you have problems, you can go to your device's Wi-Fi settings, select Tarleton-WiFi, and "forget" the network. Then select Tarleton-WiFi and enter your NTNET username and password to rejoin it.
Outlook & Teams: Microsoft apps will prompt for your new password and go through authentication. If you have problems, log out of the apps and log back in.
iPhone Mail/Calendar: If using iOS Mail and/or Calendar apps with Tarleton accounts, then the iPhone will prompt you to update your Tarleton password. If you have problems, go to Settings ⇾ Calendar or Mail ⇾ Accounts and select your Tarleton account. You can delete the account, and then tap Add Account to add it back.
