Install Adobe Apps On Tarleton Computer
All Tarleton issued work computers (Windows PC and Mac) come with Adobe Creative Cloud installed, but don't include other Adobe applications by default. The system is designed to allow you to install the apps you need without the need for ITS assistance.
Classroom, lab, and library patron computers come with specific Adobe applications pre-installed. Students, faculty, and staff cannot install other Adobe apps. If you require additional Adobe apps on one of these computers, please contact your ITS tech or call the Service Desk at 254-968-9885.
Instructions
Open Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Windows PC:
- Click on the Start menu.
- Click on All Apps
- Look for Adobe Creative Cloud and open the program.
- Mac:
- Click on the desktop, and then the Go menu at the top of the screen.
- Select Applications.
- Find Adobe Creative Cloud folder and open it.
- Open Adobe Creative Cloud.
At the login screen, enter your Tarleton email address.
You will see a familiar purple/white Tarleton log in session. Enter your Tarleton email address again, followed by your password, and then use Microsoft Authenticator.
Once logged into Adobe Creative Cloud, click on Apps in the left column.
To the left is a filter for looking for specific types of Adobe applications. At the top is a search bar, if you know exactly which Adobe app you want. The main part of the window allows you to browse all Adobe apps, with the more popular ones being at the top. Any Adobe app listed is available to Tarleton faculty and staff.
Click Install on any app you wish to install. It will then download and install the latest version in the background. You may click Install on as many apps as you like, but keep in mind they will download and install one at a time.
When the installation is done, a new installed section will appear under Apps. This is also where you can check for updates to your Adobe apps later.
You can open Adobe apps from Adobe Creative Cloud. Or you can open them directly from the Windows Start menu or Mac Applications folder.
If you have authentication issues when opening an Adobe app directly, then try opening and logging into Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe CC will pass along the authentication to all other open Adobe apps.
Install Adobe Apps On Personal Computer
Tarleton's Adobe license allows for faculty and staff to install and use Adobe applications on both work and home computers. But there are some minor restrictions:
- Adobe apps require an active Tarleton account.
- Only two computers at a time can be signed in to Adobe with your Tarleton account.
- Only one computer at a time can run Adobe apps.
