Student Worker Account Creation

Definitions

Domain Accounts:  Domain accounts are domain joined accounts which would be used to access on premise resources such as shared drives and computer logins.

Office 365 Accounts: Office 365 accounts are accounts created in Azure EntraID that allow users to log in to office365 products as well as services that require Azure Authentication.


Questions and Answers

Q: Who can request a Student worker account?
A: Student Worker account creations should not be submitted via Ticket.  Student Worker accounts are created through an automated process provided the student is listed as an active employee in the file we receive from Workday

Q: How long will the Student Worker account stay active?
A: Student worker accounts will remain active as long as an employee is in workday.  The day they drop off of our workday file received daily, the account will be disabled.

Q: When will the employee receive their account?
A: Through the automated process, employees will receive their account credentials upon the creation of their account when the employee is listed as active in workday.

Q: What if I need my account before I am considered an employee
A: Accounts should only be available once you are considered an employee, there are very few exceptions to this policy, and will only be considered after speaking with the Information Security office.


Account Creation

Student worker accounts are created when an employee is listed as "Onboarding" according to the Human Resources process in Workday.

Included in the account creation process is the creation of Domain accounts and Office365 accounts


Notification

Within the creation process all information is provided when an employee is listed as active.  The manager of the student worker and the student worker will receive a welcome email upon account creation.
