This guide will walk you through removing Tarleton's VPN software, FortiClient VPN, from your personal Windows PC or Mac.

Click on your computer's operating system for the correct FortiClient VPN removal instructions:
*For Windows PC, open FortiClient VPN and see whether you have the VPN Only or EMS client.

Remove FortiClient VPN on a Windows PC
Save any open work, as the PC will restart at the end of this process.
Click on the Start menu, and then click Settings.
Click on Apps.
Either scroll through the list of apps until you find FortiClient. Or type “forticlient” into the search field.
Click on the FortiClient listing.
Click on Uninstall.

Allow the software to make changes when prompted.
When done, you'll be prompted to restart the PC. After restart, FortiClient will be gone from the PC.
If the uninstall fails, that could indicate you have the EMS version of FortiClient VPN installed. Double-check your version using the information above. And then go through the Remove FortiClient VPN with EMS instructions below if warranted.
Remove FortiClient VPN with EMS on a Windows PC
Save any open work, as the PC will restart at the end of this process.
Open FortiClient from the Start menu.
In the left column, click on Zero Trust Telemetry.
Underneath Centrally Managed by EMS, click on Disconnect.

Click Yes on the confirmation window.
Close the FortiClient window.
Click on the Start menu, and then click Settings.
Click on Apps.
Either scroll through the list of apps until you find FortiClient. Or type “forticlient” into the search field.
Click on the FortiClient listing.
Click on Uninstall.

Allow the software to make changes when prompted.
When done, you'll be prompted to restart the PC. After restart, FortiClient will be gone from the PC.
Remove FortiClient VPN on a Mac
Find and click on the FortiClient icon in the upper menu bar. The icon is shaped like a shield.
Click on Shutdown FortiClient. The menu bar icon should now disappear.

Go to the Applications folder and find FortiClientUninstaller.app.
Double-click on the FortiClient uninstall app.

In the app’s window, click Uninstall.

You may be prompted to make changes to the FortiClientAgent. With the pop-up window, enter your Mac’s administrator username and password, then click Update Settings.
The app will tell you when FortiClient has been removed. Click Done.
