What to Do When Asked to Trust Tarleton-WiFi

The Tarleton State Wi-Fi network received a security certificate update on May 1, 2025. On your next connection to the network, your computer or smartphone may prompt you to trust or accept the new certificate in order to connect to Tarleton-WiFi.

The certificate name is clearpass.tarleton.edu and is issued by InCommon. It may be labeled as "Not Trusted". The prompt will more commonly occur with Apple devices.

iPhone/iPad

The prompt on iPhone/iPad will look like this:

Verify that the certificate is for tarleton.edu and from InCommon, then Trust the certificate.

Mac

The prompt on macOS will look like this:

Click Show Certificate.

Verify that the certificate is for tarleton.edu and from InCommon.

Always Trust should be selected for all pull down menus, and then click Continue.

You will be prompted for a password. Enter your local computer password, not your Tarleton account password.
