This is a guide to provide instructions for nursing simulation faculty & staff on how to create a new course in EHR Tutor.
Note: Courses should be thought of as folders to hold Activities. Each simulation session done by a group of students is considered an activity.
For Example:
- Course - FA25 NURS 4380 Kenneth Bronson
- Activity - FA25 NURS 4380 Kenneth Bronson Wednesday Group 1 AM
Log in to ATI/EHR Tutor as normal.
Click “Course List” on the left side of the screen.

Click "New Course".

Fill out the form as needed.

Note: Set the “Course End Date” to hide the course when the date has been reached. This does not delete the course, but removes it from the viewable list to reduce library clutter.
Click “Save” when complete.
The next screen will allow you to add users to the course. Click the “Add Course Teachers” button.
Note:
- It is best practice to add all instructors that need to be able to view the activities within the course. This may include instructors for multiple days and courses. Simulation staff should also be added to more easily provide assistance to instructors during simulation.
- It is not necessary to add student users, as they will be given the Course Enrollment Key during the simulation to connect to the course.

A list of instructors will open in a new temporary window. Click the name or names of the users you wish to add and click “Add”.
- You may use the search field to find the instructor you are looking for (marked in orange).
- Or sort the list of names by clicking on the column headings (marked in green).

The page will refresh, and you will see a list of the selected users that you added in the middle of the screen. You will also see a blue confirmation message at the top of the screen.

Click “Back to Course List” to return to the list of all available courses.

Search the list for the newly created course.

Find the course and click “Go to Course” to access, or click “Delete Course” to delete the course.

The new course is created and ready to add activities.
