This article explains how to back up your bookmarks in Firefox. You can create a one-time backup in OneDrive, or sign in to a Mozilla account to sync your bookmarks to the cloud automatically.
Table of Contents
One-Time Backup
These steps create a one-time backup of your current bookmarks. This is a good option when you need to back up before your computer is reimaged or replaced. If you choose to use a Mozilla account to sync your data in Firefox, you can skip this method.
Open Firefox.
Click the three-line icon in the upper-right corner.
Click Bookmarks.

At the bottom of the bookmark menu, click Manage Bookmarks.

A new window will open. Click the Import and Backup tab.
Click Export Bookmarks to HTML.

Set the save location to your OneDrive. This keeps your saved bookmarks readily available on any device.

One-Time Restore
These steps restore your previously backed-up bookmarks to Firefox. Follow them after your Tarleton computer has been reimaged or replaced. Skip this section if you chose to use a Mozilla account to sync your bookmarks.
Open Firefox.
Click the three-line icon in the upper-right corner.
Click Bookmarks.

At the bottom of the bookmark menu, click Manage Bookmarks.

A new window will open. Click the Import and Backup tab.
Click Import Bookmarks from HTML.

Select your previously saved bookmarks file, which you should have saved in OneDrive, and then click Open.
Your bookmarks will now show up again in Firefox.
Sync Bookmarks with a Mozilla Account
You can use or create a Mozilla account and sign in to it in Firefox. This lets you sync your browser data, including bookmarks, to the cloud and to other devices running Firefox. With syncing turned on, you do not need to back up your bookmarks manually.
To keep your personal and work bookmarks separate, we recommend using your Tarleton email address to create a Mozilla account for work. If you want all your bookmarks under one account, then we recommend using a personal email address to create the Mozilla account.
Open Firefox.
Go to the Mozilla accounts signup page.
Enter an email address and click Sign up.
Follow the prompts to continue creating your account.
Once the account is created and confirmed, click the three-line icon in the upper-right corner of the Firefox window.
Click Sign In.

In the new tab, click Sign in to sync.

Sign in to your account. You may need to enter a confirmation code sent to your email.
If prompted to connect another device, click Not now.
You will be sent to your account profile page.
To set sync settings, click the three-line icon in the upper-right corner of the Firefox window.
Click your account.
Then click Sync Settings.
Under Syncing, click Change to make any changes.

Your data will sync automatically, but it may take a few minutes.
